Data upload tutorial

In this tutorial, you will learn how to upload data in different formats, copy and paste or use the sample data available in Datasketch Apps.

Load options

Sample Data

In many of the Datasketch Apps you will find sample data which is free and reusable and which is used automatically to create example graphs and visualizations. This way you get an idea of how the app works and of the type of graphic it produces before uploading your own data.

Copy & Paste

Copy & Paste is one of the easiest and fastest ways to load data; you just need to select and copy the rows and columns you are interested in from your database and paste them directly into the app.

As soon as you copy and paste the data from your database, the data table will automatically appear in the data preview panel with the columns and rows you have inserted.

CSV/XLSX upload

CSV is a text format that represents data in tabular form. Each line of text and data is separated by commas as a delimiter. This option can be found when you want to download databases.

XLSX is a spreadsheet in which the data is stored across the cells of the document. Each cell can be made up of letters and numbers.

These two formats have a certain similarity and they are both open and reusable formats.

Import Google Sheets

Google Sheets is used to export or import data from spreadsheets in Google Drive.
